Finding a great pair of pants that fit you well is tricky enough on its own. Add in the element of travel and it gets even harder. They can’t be bulky or they’ll take up too much space in your carry-on; they should be wrinkle-proof and easy to wipe down so they come out of your bag ready to wear and stay that way even if you can’t do laundry; and, of course, they need to be fashionable enough that you actually want to wear them. The Alo Yoga It Girl Pant meets all those criteria and then some, making them one of the best pairs of travel pants I’ve found in years.
I’m a Travel Writer, and This Rolling Carry-on Duffel Is the Best Soft-sided Suitcase I’ve Ever Used

The design is both chic and utilitarian, with a high-rise elastic waistband and plenty of pockets to hold your phone, wallet, keys, passport, and more while on the go. The fit is relaxed and slightly oversized, but cinched ankles keep them from looking baggy and unflattering. Easy to dress up or down, I’ve paired these with everything from a crop top, belt, and heels for a nice night out, to hiking boots, a tank top, and an oversized jacket for rugged adventures.
Even better, these Alo Yoga pants are an ideal light-to-medium weight that makes them great for just about any season, and the fabric hardly wrinkles even when I roll them up and stuff them into the smallest corners of my carry-on. Plus, the water-resistant, performance material is durable enough that I don’t worry about them ripping or tearing even when trekking through tough hiking terrain. The length and thickness of these pants also provides extra protection from the sun or if you’re headed anywhere that’s mosquito-heavy. (Trust me, I’ve had to switch into these pants when being eaten alive through a pair of yoga pants before.)
Just one note of caution when it comes to sizing: While the waistband is fairly stretchy, these pants are tailored for high-waist wear, so if you have a curvier figure, I’d recommend sizing up so you’re not shimmying into them every time.
At $114, these pants are definitely a splurge. But with numerous ways to style them and excellent construction and detailing, I know I’ll be wearing these on all my trips for years to come. While I’m partial to my beautiful dark olive color, the It Girl Pant also comes in black, another shade of green, and espresso brown. However, three of the current colors are limited edition and selling fast, so snag these versatile and cute cargo pants while you still can.
